Organic abstract sculptures forged by Pacific Ocean swells and refined by self-taught California artist Brian Purdy.
Each piece is a singular creation molded by ocean currents, coastal winds, and natural sun weathering along the California coastline.
“Exposed to art through family, inspired by the raw beauty of California’s coastline.”
Raised in Northern California, Brian Purdy is a self-taught artist who grew up exposed to art through his family's rich creative lineage.
His father, Douglas Purdy, nationally known for his bronze sculptures and welded art, owned the Douglas Purdy Gallery in Carmel, California, and has pieces permanently displayed in the Monterey Convention Center and the Monterey Museum of Art. His Grandfather owned the Matrix Gallery, one of the first art galleries on the historic Monterey Wharf.
Brian lives in San Diego County with his cattle dog Mazzy. He loves to fish, hike, and cycle along the Pacific coast. He also loves to spend time with his two boys and their families, especially his two new granddaughters.
